Awesome New Sign

This awesome new sign did not come easy. It all began a couple of years ago when my son and I were in a very small town in Idaho to buy a couple of old gas pumps we had heard about. As we carefully drove every street in town we ran across an old 30s-40s gas station and garage that was abandoned. Obviously we were interested in the sign pole and the porcelain lights that were still on the island in front. In our extensive hunt for the owner we finally found a name and with a lot more searching we got his phone number. It was a very cold winter day with a Lot of snow on the ground and we had limited time so I called the number we had several times and texted a couple of times. Finally after eating lunch there and spending all the time we could spare we left town, but not without calling one more time. Bingo!!! This time he answered, but only to tell me what a jerk I was for bugging him so much when he was under a car trying to change a transmission out in the driveway in the snow etc etc and then he hung up after a few colorful words. We felt really bad about the encounter and hard feelings so after a couple of hours of driving home I called him again to apologize for being such a pest and was fortunately able to smooth things over a bit. In the many months since that unfortunate encounter we have become pretty good friends and speak about every other month. A few days ago I called him to see if he might know of anyone who would have a WWII half track for sale and after telling me that he didn't know of any for sale, he asked me if I might be interested in buying two of his NOS Chevron signs he had just taken out of a box with the date of 1953 on it. The answer was obvious and this is one of the four signs that he sold us yesterday. We are thrilled to have it and grateful for the fruits of patience and friendships.
