I wish I had more Loetz, still I'm sure everyone here says that, even if they have hundreds of pieces.

However I count myself very lucky to have these few. Not much I can add about these vases, it's all been said before on this forum and on loetz.com. What an amazing resource that is. This Loetz subset of Collectors Weekly is pretty amazing too.

First one is a 21cm high and is a chunky imposing piece. I'm not sure what the decor is called? I believe the shape is a variation of the Hoffmann vase discussed here: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/153238-loetz-vase-designed-by-josef-hoffmann-1

Second one is 11cm and is a Pink Mimosa, also called Red or Rosa Mimosa.

Third is 14.5cm and is Creta Phaenomen Genre 6893

Last is a 20cm Rubin Phaenomen Genre 6893

If I've got the ID's wrong, or if anyone has anything to add, like the shape numbers etc, it would be much appreciated. I've put the pics up in hi-res, so you should be able to zoom in.

Such beautiful pieces, Paul. The post about the Hoffmann vase was so interesting. Hoffmann was quite a Renaissance man!

Hi Bluboi, it's a bit of a common theme with great artists and designers, their minds were so fertile they sent up shoots in all directions. Christopher Dresser and William Morris are two more who spring to mind.

It blows my mind that William Morris learned basic Icelandic so he could translate The Icelandic Sagas, and also produced translations of Homer's Odyssey, Virgil's Aeneid, Beowulf, and medieval French stories at Kelmscott Press, where he designed his own typefaces, made his own paper, and printed by hand!
