Unknown Maker, Beautiful None-the-less German Silver Cigarette Case

I bought this case from a friend in Germany. It's definitely got the German standard mark of crescent moon, crown, .800 but looks like the maker was either rubbed off or never stamped.

The piece has two marks (etched with what looks like a knife) on the interior base and lid that are VII. Possibly King Edward VII? Maybe the gentleman playing the instrument is King Edward VII and the gal is Alexandra? Who knows. I just love the craftmanship and am happy to have it in my collection.
