OH! And YES--The signature is arched!

Hi there, My pleasure to help where I can. Yes, I would consider the piece to be Art Deco production...... bright contrasting colors and kind of symmetrical geometrically based shapes....

Probably Ruckl Opalrosa Shimmy Pfau, not Kralik.

The mark on the piece indicates Kralik production. No matter how many times it is ignored in this forum by a couple of people, it is pretty much accepted worldwide as a Kralik mark.

Additionally, the Rückl line art for the décor suggested above, does not contain blue in it. Also, this piece shows a completely different style of pull on it than the style consistently shown in the Rückl line art for Pfau decors. It is really as straight forward though as:

If the colors do not match, neither does the décor.

      Pretty simple stuff.

I enlarged the bottom of the image and played with it to see detail before I asked the question of the poster. The piece has open O's that I could see and also an arched form to it. I simply asked the poster to confirm.

The individual touting it as Rückl has done so repeatedly on other posts of this shape, while ignoring all evidence that points away from Rückl as the production house. It appears to be a game of some sort.

Put into other words, we have been down this path too many times to really discuss it in detail any longer. This shape and decor have been posted here several times in both blue and pink and with the same arched open O mark on it. All of those colors did not match the line art either.

The Truitt drawings have not been linked to a décor on a shape as shown in the drawings that I am aware of. I have tried to do it for several years, as have some others. That is for both the ones published in their book, and also some unpublished pages of décors and shapes which I have and some others also have.

There have been many attributions of décors to Rückl based on that artwork, but in almost every instance, the spatters being identified do not even match the colors in the drawings. On top of that, many different colors combinations of spatters have been identified as the same Ruckl décors based on the same drawing. Some of it is actually discussed in my post on production literature and it's use. The first image in the following post portrays exactly what I am talking about.

      http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/159228-factory-production-literature--shape?in=user

To me shapes are as important as décors, but it is also dependent on the shapes and the décors being evaluated.

For some reason, all of this (matching decor colors to artwork and such) seems rather confusing to a handful of people in this forum. I do not understand why, as some of it is pretty simple stuff.

Just to touch base---The O's are open, The signature arched--and today I will try for a better photo of the bottom and if that works, I'll remove the old one and replace it.(with the better picture IF I am able to get one.)

The mark was not registered by nor exclusive to Kralik. (Truitt II, pg 122) The same "Kralik" semi-circle is also found on Tomschick glassware from this same era.

"present the research that challenges the marking as being specific to kralik."

The second Tomschick vase from the right in that link has been found with the "Kralik" semi-circle:

One thing is for sure--The vase is beautiful. I will never sell it. and I personally am not worried about the bottom-mark for that reason---there is a difference of opinion here and I don't think a final decision can be made --the best to "agree to disagree"-Thanks Much!!- Much appreciated!!
