This is an original 1929 Thurston "Whippet" stone lithograph window card from my private collection of Magic posters.

Attempting to take his act one notch above a mere disappearing maiden, Thurston claims that he will make an entire fleet of girls, complete with their Whippet automobile, vanish right before your eyes. This was also one of the earliest examples of product placement, as the Willys-Overland dealership provided a new car in each city Thurston performed, provided that it was both pictured and mentioned in all of his ads.

The price for a new Whippet automobile in 1928?.....$535.00

Fantastic, iconic poster--with cross over from magic to auto subject matter!

The $535.00 in 1928 is the equivalent of $7, 261 in today's dollars!
