I inherited this beautiful tea set from my grandmother. It is from Japan and says "Hand-painted Victora China" on the underside.

It is my most prized possession! I love, love, love it!

I thought my uncle brought it back from Japan bc he was stationed there during the Korean War but I researched it and it's much older than that.

I've never seen one like it.

That's a beautiful set, AsherasAttic. Can you post a photo of the base, please? Are any of the pieces marked?

There's another listed like yours, the bottom is signed Kutani. I looked on Gotheburg, couldn't match the hallmark:

Okay, here is the hallmark, with H.S.K., Seattle added, that might be a lead.

hi Katherine: thanks for the info! I'm seriously considering buying that set you told me about but then what do I do with two sets?!! I just love it so! MIOJ made in occupied Japan makes that set more rare possibly? I uploaded the hallmark on my tea set for you to see. Xo, lynn
