I picked this up at Good Will for $3.00 only to find out that it was very old and worth a lot more than I paid for it. My intention was to sell it until I found out that it was H.C. Fry and I absolutely love the pattern.

      Hello,

I believe that what you have is actually a piece of Fostoria's #232 Lotus pattern. According to page 99 of Fostoria - Its First Fifty Years by Hazel Marie Weatherman, this pattern was made from 1913 to 1929. Though your water bottle is not shown on that page, on page 98, they show a #1558 water bottle that appears to be identical.

I particularly like this pattern. I have a covered marmalade jar (also not shown in the book) and 4 of the tall champagnes. I compared the etching on your water bottle against one of my champagnes, and it is identical.

The Fry Pond Lily pattern is certainly similar to Fostoria Lotus, but examples of it are seldom seen today.

I hope this information is helpful to you.

      Best regards,

      Michael
