Not sure what this is. Tried to do some research online and came up with possibly a samovar? Has intricate heiroglyphics all around the center of each piece. Ornate handles and lid. No markings visible. Very heavy. May be silver or pewter?
Ok, got a closer look at the bottom of the pitcher. It is Derby Silver Co. Not sure what the pattern is, though.
I don't see a spigot. If there's no spigot, it wouldn't be a samovar, would it? Could it be a sugar and creamer? This is likely silver plate. What fun pieces!
Oops. Sorry. Egyptian Revival/Aesthetic Movement. I don't see the hieroglyphics, though I don't doubt what you report. I don't know the exact name /number of the pattern., but it does look like a sugar and creamer.
Hi, sorry to be so piecemeal. Confirmed that the covered bowl is the sugar bowl; the other vessel is the creamer. I am working on four other projects now, so I can't undertake to hunt down the teapot that went with your pieces. However, if I should come across it, I'll post my findings. You're right about it not being easy to find. If I were you, I'd be looking for Derby
'catalogue', or other publication, and look for the Egyptian Revival pieces.
Looks like the silver finish is in poor condition - much worn. However, it might be possible to replate these and still retain significant detail. I think that they're fabulous just the way they are. I find them thrilling!!!!
