This oil measures approx. 9x5" it is extremely soiled, & I would like to have it cleaned, if its worth it..,..However , before I do that , I am trying to decipher the signature on the lower right. Any help is always appreciated. Thank you
I don't normally do paintings, but I think I can offer the subject matter. My Guess is a picture of Austin TX with the iconic TX blue bonnets in front and the capital building dome in the back. I'm not a native TXan, but last time I was in Austin I believe someone said that there had been changes to the capitol building. A little research into that might help you date it. Also, Austin has been built up quite a bit over the years. If this is a painting of the actual scene, again that might help with dating. I'm afraid the subject alone won't help with the artist. Historic buildings and blue bonnets are common subjects down here. Maybe something about the style will get you where you want to go.
Looks like Montego? in the corner... Lots of Austin artists. Good luck with your search.
