I found these these very pretty LoSol Ware Lynn Keeling & Co dishes recently and really like them because they seemed odd. I don't know the purpose or the pattern. I've never seen this type of serving dish?? Thank you for your input.

Hard to see how the pieces go together from the photos, I've tried to put it together in my mind but not so good at puzzles or mechanics myself. Have you tried finding the maker on any websites? If you can find the manufacturer on a site like Replacements, they often have all the pieces made in a certain pattern listed. Good luck with your research.

I wonder if this item is part of a tea set - a container in which the dregs of tea would have been poured. In order for a person to have a clean cup, the hostess would have poured the dregs into this container. A pitcher would have contained water to rinse the cup, so that they person drinking tea could have a second cup. This item would have been brought out on the tray with the tea, teapot, creamer and sugar bowl, and cups and saucers. This enabled the hostess to rinse a cup without having to return to the kitchen? Maybe?
