Hello this is a piece my wife brought back from shopping.
It a nice coffee table made of Mahogany, marble top,and 5 small lyre base.
It measures 36x18 inches.
Has any one seen one this size and style before, also nicely carved rose s present.
I have a coffee table with the same dimensions and looks very much the same. I have been thinking of selling it but have to idea of its worth. It is an heirloom from at least the 1920's. Would you mind terribly my asking what you paid for this table? Thank you, please reply.
I think my wife paid $400
Thank you for your prompt reply. I wonder if it was an original or a knock off? It has been in the family since the early 1900's, and I was told its value was in the thousands. I am an amateur and I wish I knew how I could find its true value. It is much too heavy to haul around to the antique stores. Ugh.
I suggest you get an furniture appraiser to look at your item, make sure to tell them it's not for sale to get honest appraisal.
Great table! Looks like Carrara marble. Kimball organ co. made furniture in the early 80s with that exact Italian marble cut. Different wood though Honduras Mahogony.
Thanks for veiwing,my wife now is out looking for more vintage furniture,I guess I have to work more overtime.
