I am trying to research the origin or this dresser. Has anyone any information?

It's a pretty common design. I have a marbletop one with the glove drawers. Some came with mirrors. It's turn of the century late 1800's. I think mine has a stamp on the back. I've never really researched mine, it came from my Grandmother. I can't remember what they say the handles are, some kind of nut maybe. They also came with a fruit design, and grapes.

Vestaswind, We have one similar to yours with a partial marble top between the glove drawers. It belonged to my husbands aunt. She got it from her mother we think. Dunn was her maiden name. Her family came to Missouri, we believe from Ohio, in covered wagon. According to the restorer....it was covered with paint when we acquired it....he noticed a place (on the back luckily) where it appeared to have been rubbed by a wagon wheel. We spent $1800 to restore it. I believe that ours at one time included a mirror on a circular base that sat on the wood part behind the marble. Would love to acquire a replacement. Any ideas?

Just looked at ours again. It sits on a base with legs and each handle is centered on a raised panel. Between the two panels and below the keyhole on each drawer is a horizontal crescent moon shape raised and routered panel. There are turnings where the front meets the sides just below the top and just above the base and down each outside front leg and on the both front sides of the glove drawers.

I just purchase a simular design, but not in as good of condition as yours. I also am curious about the handles. It has two glove drawers with locks on the drawers. Mine is painted white. A few months prior I purchased a night stand with the same handle so was very happy when I came across the dresser with the same handles.

Acorn handles. A very attractive piece.
