This card is from Mexico..I live about 1& 1/2 hrs from the border and go down to visit my friends who used to be my neighbors.
We go"junking" in out of the way shops in and near Nogales.
I was surprized to find the subject of violent spousal abuse as the subject of the card which says nothing but speaks volumes!! No date but I feel strongly late 1930s The man has a club with a nail driven thru it and has a hold on the woman's braid. She has her trusty rolling pin, but the pot of pee she had to crown him with with has tipped, probably when she lost her shoe. Mayhem here. Yes, seen on cards--but not usually this violent between a man and woman. Two men or a riot or something maybe--but not this. It was never sent. And I cannot see why anyone would think this card appropriate or in the least bit "comical"!
Divided BACK SAYS "FEMA" S.A. Apartado 7190 Mexico D.F. Printed in Mexico**** DON'T FORGET TO ENLARGE THIS CARD FOR BETTER VISUAL!!
