    This is a PRR oil torch lamp,I'm not sure what these would be used for,I've seen where these were used from the late 1800s until the later 1800s but I have no way of confirming that.

      Engine crewmwn used oil torch lamps to test the air lines on an engine...hold them next to the joint or connection, and if any air was leaking, it would blow out the flame.
