I saw them and I fall in love. A decanter and six glasses in a very strang pattern. When they are illuminated from the inside the glass seems red-violet. You can feel the relieves of the decor, the mica glows golden with the flash but not under natural light. Please open the last two pictures. Thanks in advance for any help in identifying this set. Hello, What an absolutely fabulous set. The decanter and glasses are Italian, likely from the late 1960's or early 70's. They are by Vincenzo Nason. He formed his company "Vincenzo Nason & Cie" on Murano in 1967 after working for Venini. They are best known for a line of glass called "Avventurina", and this is a stellar example of that production. It is found in a number of bright colors including powder blue and an almost neon green.
It can be difficult to find a decanter with a stopper, much less the stopper and a set of glasses.

I meant to add before, but forgot.
The inclusions in the glass which you referred to as Mica are actually Copper crystals. What you have in this piece of glass is actually Aventurine by the true definition of what it was when the technique was discovered.
A mix of glass is oversaturated with copper salts, and when it hardens the crystals of copper form in the glass. That is the original form of Aventurine. It is then broken apart and added to other glass in the blowing process, and it is those chunks of copper crystal infused glass that form these defined pockets of "sparkle" seen so clearly in these pieces.
The term aventurine has been generalized from the specific use of copper, to the point of referring to mica, silver and gold foils and dust, and anything else that makes the glass "sparkle". Over saturation of chromium in a gather of glass causes green glass with chromium sparkles or crystals in it.

I would want to keep them illuminated all the time! A couple of LEDs, a couple resistors and a battery would do the trick. Cheap and easy :-)
