Very finely painted Russian Icon of St. Nicholas from the Palekh School of icon painting.
St. Nicholas is shown giving a blessing with small images of Christ and the Virgin Mary at the sides.

stunning!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks SEAN. He's my patron saint.
The icons are great! I'm fortunate to live near a RO church, as well as an Ukrainian Catholic church! I obtained a wonderful icon from from my friend's church, which I will have identified the next time that I go to St. Vladimir's or St. John's churches.
I will post a scan of it at that time.
Besides the spiritual enrichment that these churches offer, they also make the best blynai (Lithuanian for potato pancakes), and pyrohi!
Ted_Straub.....I have collected Russian icons since the 1960's.
Actually they led me to convert to the Orthodox Church.
Also I am a semi-curator at the Museum of Russian Icons in Clinton, Mass.
