My husband was yard selling with his mom months ago and came across this compass. He paid $10 for it. As I started doing research, I found that this brand/maker was pretty good and some of their compasses were quite expensive. I thought between the look of the aged box and the instruction manual being dated and typed on a type writer, that this may be a vintage piece possibly sometime from the 1950's. It was made in Japan. It seems to be new as far as never used. It came with the gaskets, screws, and the wires are still tied together. I have called and emailed many places across the county to no avail. Even Weems & Plath has not gotten back with me. They said it must be older than 20 years for it was not in their direct system and they would need to hunt. That was 2 weeks ago. I have looked everywhere on the internet and can not find this model or any article about it. The Weems & Plath website has nothing as well as the history of the company. Can anyone help me in dating this thing or possibly someone who has seen this model and can tell me more about it. Specs are listed below. Thanks so much!
