In order to get my picture straight I had to post this on the net... There now you can see it right side up You'll need to enlarge it!!!!
An old fisherman- sailor shows us his stomach and" abs" as he rows amid all the shells.HE has FISHING EQUIPMENT WITH HIM ---
On the hanging it says "Venice" in Italian. And there is a "looks like transfer" picture of the old town. There are 2 round empty places on it which I have no clue what might have been present there.--Any guesses? Pictures of fish?
OH! FUNNY, isn't it? But very "ethnic and folksy showing a way of life. For that--I love it! I had to have it---I can see it is QUITE OLD & Handcrafted.
I have to wonder if anything so odd is still being bought by tourists--Probably NOT! and I feel this is obscure. It may be 30s-40s?? By the way--what kind of shells are those?

I end up with these sorts of things. Somehow they are very appealing and they get my sympathy for being not just silly but abandoned too.
I remember as a teenager in high school---I never wanted what anyone else had. If everyboy had it/ or one (including clothes, etc) I didn't want it, /one... This continures still today. My eye is out for the oddity.and if it makes me giggle--that is a big plus. Thanks much for your comment. I see we feel the same.
Wish someone here could identify the shells-they would have come from somewhere in Italy's waters. Or are all types of shells located everywhere on our planet? These look like types I have never seen...but as a desert dweller.... I am better naming cactus!
