Notes: Merle Norman Cosmetics Semper Idem Porcelain Coin Ashtray: Inner part has a lighter on top that pops out and has a fluid well and a place to insert flint on it's underside. It has 5 coins in a circle on top that are: 2 canadian & 3 British. The ashtray bowl has 8 coins around it's top that are 2 British; 2 Mexicanos; 1 South Africa; and 3 that have the valuation word, Centavos on them. Coins have visible dates from 1943 to 1957. The item was obviously made to be an advertising collectible as there is no evidence of it ever being used as an ashtray. The condition is very near excellent with no signs of any abuse, including dings, nicks, or scratches. It also has 8 cigarette holders between the coins. The material is porcelain. the top is 4&3/8 in diameter. The bowel is 10 inches wide and approx. 1&3/4 tall. the weight is 2&1/2 lbs. It has the word Japan under the lighter. I am the owner.
