My grandmother died in the mid 1940s and my mom brought a few things from the old house built in Minn. about 1900. My great-uncle brought back things to her (his sister,Hanna my gram) from around the world between 1915-1920 and we think this is one. Inlaid with abalone pearl & old,old laquer. The finish is now matte I am sure is was shiny & beautiul back in the day. He was in China at that time. Box is 6 sided and about 5 inches across. 2 &3/4 inches high. Great amout of wear to bottom (pic #3..see scuffs and wear in middle bottom and inside edges from use, top and sides)-all inlaid held up fairly well. I love to look at it.

Pretty piece, definitely has age to it. Not worth a zillion bucks or anything but still nice.
