Vintage Victorian Dollhouse
This Vintage Victorian Dollhouse was purchased for me by my parents back in the 1970's. We just recently freshened up the paint and added paper to three rooms that needed to be redone.
What a little enchanting dollhouse this is. The house is done in a light cream color. The trim is done in a striking blue with a black roof to off set it all. White columns hold up the adorable porch swing with chains and all. It has over 30 pieces of finely crafted furniture all original to the 1970's. It has nearly 50 miniatures with a fuzzy pet poodle, a baby with a diaper and beautiful white dress. There is a handmade rock fireplace that was made by my mother and I. The roll top desk drawers all open and the trundle bed on the top floor has a hand stitched quilt and a pull out guest mattress to boot. Heavy cast iron Queen stove with all it's original pots and coal bucket (this piece alone is worth over $30). Place settings for 4 and a cube of ice in the ice box to keep your food fresh. There are 4 working lights that need a bit of TLC (missing shade, cord that has been cut). It comes with everything that you see and a few more items for the electrified lamps like wiring and new light bulbs. The electrical box for the lighting is outside on the right side of the house.
This dollhouse has a unique feature as it is completely collapsible. I believe this is why it has held up so nicely over the many moves that we did as a family. There are two locks that you lock into place and then each wall and floor lock into each other.
The roof where the babies room is had fallen down to the floor over the years when bumped but it has been sanded and repainted. The corner has been rounded off. The base is 25 1/4" x 15" wide and the Height is 25". This is a unique find in gently played with condition.
