I saw her in the local thrift shop and HAD to bring her home! She lives in my vintage 1950s/1960s room.
I emailed Parastone, a Dutch company, and received this reply; "In 1987 we produced grandma and grandpa. Production was made in our studio in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. The material used was an artificial stone. (pulvert magnesium-stone with chloride and sand)
Hand painted. I guess only 500 each were produced.
The sculptor of the figurines was Klaas van Rosmalen.
At that time the price was about 60 guilders (28 Euro) per piece."
I would have had to bring here home with me too, she looks so happy and content!..love the expression on her face...:-)
@inky - I 'm still hoping to find Grandpa! <3
You will...it's just a natter of time!!..:-))
How sweet! I love grammy figurines, have one or two myself. :)
So adorable and isn't it weird that we both posted a figure in a chair, closed eyes, cute face at nearly the same time!! "Syncronicity"--how paths do cross!
PostCardCollector -that is odd, eh? Your little doll and chair is soooo sweet!
That is a great looking piece. I'm surprised the company provided that much information, cool.
Good luck finding Grampa.
