I bought this at a yard sale, the people who sold it to me, know nothing about it , except it hung in their father's house. The man who sold it to me was about in his 50's.

OOOH! Fantastic! It is much older, from the childres outfits, coral necklace and hairdo, your charming portrait is surely around 1830!

Of course, as the frame seems rather new, it could be a print from an antique...
What is the medium? Paint, pastel? A pic of the back would help too, and better, if you could remove the frame to see the full image (seems bigger than the frame!) and if there is any writing or signature under :-)

Thank You Kyratango, I am aftraid to take the back off. It 's really on their good. It was carefully framed by Frames Plus, in N.Y. It looks like a water color definitely not on canvas. No artist signature, that I can see. But I may take the back off in the near future just to see what I can find out. The man knew nothing about it, just that it hung in his fathers house. Thank You for correcting me on the date, I am not very good at that.

Agree, subjects are early to mid 19th century.

Colors are very bright, which would make me think that it was a much later effort/ not done in the era.

      Worth investigating further.

Thanks Scott, ya it does look brand new. But the frame looks to be bout the 50's or 60's. I am definitely gonna investigate.

Very cute ! I have seen several of these types of girls which have been reproduced or copied from a old painting or perhaps inspired by a old photo. Nice Buy ! OK lol Kyratango doesn't have any goats so don't take the deal :-)))
