Lamp from deceased mother in law

This table lamp appears to be hand painted. It has a very old electric cord and metal of some type underneath. It has the old brass or metal key shaped turn switch. It has hand engraving with letters and numbers someone has engraved on the metal part near the light. She fled holland during the war as a child and her parents were from there if this is relevant. Since she is gone and there r no family members to give me information about it I sure would like to know more. Any input would sure help. Thank you
