Here is another find from a thrift in San Diego Cal area. I immediately knew what it was and swooped it up!
Mats Jonasson, born in 1945. He's the third generation master glass craftsmen from Målerås, Sweden. World famous for his crystal sculptures, this particular one being from his wildlife series. It goes right along with the deer I previously posted. This piece is signed on the bottom although the sticker has been removed. His pieces are still manufactured in Maleras, Sweden and if there are any blems what-so-ever, they toss it out. It will never see the light so to say. You will always find quality sculptures from the small to the large. Awesome pieces.
When I took these photos it was just about dusk and there was no light on in the room! It's like his pieces grab whatever light there is and it just shoots right thru the piece. The second photo is from the back side of it and the last photo was taken just as the day was done. It still grabs the light!
Thanks for the love agh! Always appreciated!

Hi Alan. Thank you for such a nice comment and the love. Yes, he is quite amazing. Have you seen the newest work he's doing? Creating some amazing masks!
Fantastic photos Sue!
Mats Jonasson has done some great designs.
I have one of these eagle paperweights as well, they are wonderful. :)
Thank you Karen for the nice compliment! Funny thing, it was unintended at first. I think the pieces are just so amazing that they shine all on their own.
I will have to post one of my uncle Franks photos of my cousin taken probably 40+ years ago. My cousin is sitting at a table with glass and my uncle got a perfect pic with the reflection. I sure did learn from him ;) Always a sweet memory!
Thank you Katherine. The lights shine thru in an amazing way, right?!
Thank you vetraio for the love!
Trey, mike, mani and sklo, thank you also for the loves.
Well you took better pictures of yours than I did mine, it looks very nice. :)
Did you buy yours loose like this? Any surface scratches on yours?
beautiful!!!
Well thank you kindly Sean!
Another gorgeous piece. The information that you and everyone else share on this site is an education in itself. Sorry I did not join sooner. I feel honored to have people openly share information as that is a priceless gift.
Thanks for looking and the love everyone. I do appreciate it ;)
