Can you tell me how old this trunk is. It belonged to my 82 year old mums uncle but not sure of the exact age of it. The trunk is covered in a hessian fabric and it had 2 leather straps and buckles on the front but the straps have been broken off through wear. The inside has been papered in what looks like old wallpaper.
I have a similar one and I have seen many of this type -- probably form 1910 to 1930 -- a bit of a range but they did make this style for many years. Not many people know them as "Bentwood" trunks unless they are from the UK. Thanks for the post and welcome to Collector's Weekly.
