Marked .835 with the Dutch sword mark after 1953. Garnet accents.
It measures 1/2" on each of the four sides. The pendant is about 1.5 inches long. I have never seen this sort of design and think it's beautiful.

UPDATE: I solved my own mystery today, thanks to a post by another who also has a fob charm.

    Thanks for looking/loving, friends!

@oldandsilly (hahahha love it!!) This is much to big and heavy to wear on a bracelet. There is also a solid loop at the top for a chain. The Dutch sword hallmark is stamped (.835) on the bottom ring, underneath, where the large garnet is hanging. A Google photo search did not turn up anything. I put up a different photo.

@Zowie - I have a heavy duty silver box chain for this pendant. :)

Maybe Agram or BelleEpoque will know this kind of pendant as they are Dutch :-)

Efesgirl from kyratango I heard your question about this pendant. Very beautiful and I haven't seen such before. Given the shape and style in my opinion, under partake be part of peasant jewelry. Maybe you can even send a photo to an expert in this field in the Netherlands. Nice to be able to deal with a compatriot knowledge. And hope to come more often here on CW against!

Agram.m and oldandsilly (hee hee hee!): I've lived in the Netherlands for 25 years and have not come across a piece like this one. I bought it from a couple at a flea market who were selling off their "antiques". That piece was in a bowl with some junk. I don't think they knew it was silver, even though it is marked so well a blind man could have seen it. A piece like this for $10? I will look into your suggestion and see if I can find someone around here who can identify it for me. It almost looks Asian. I hope BelleEpoque sees it and maybe knows something.

@oldandsilly: I lived in Turkey for 4 years. Their jewelry is to die for! I hope somebody comes along who can tell me about this pendant. I had another look at the stamp on the big ring where a chain would be put through and the marks are not Dutch, as far as I know. Maybe it is an import piece. Hmmmm..the plot thickens!

@oldandsilly - yes, I'm still laughing! I smile every time I see your "name".

Thanks, OAS. I have to look at the marks very carefully and see if I can get an extreme close up of them. I have no idea what the marks are at the moment. :-)

Hi! I'm not sure I can help... But I agree with oldandsilly in that the 835 mark suggests the piece is older or Asian perhaps. Or also, as Agram said, maybe it started life as something else, like a dingly ornament to a larger thing. In any case it was a bargain and you can now wear it as a lovely pendant. Groetjes.

Hi BelleEpoque - The sword mark design is what tells me it's after 1953 because the number .835 is inside the Dutch stamped sword design. If it was an import piece from Asia, I would expect it to have two sets of silver hallmarks. If I could just figure out what that other mark was, I might be able to get more information. If I wore this as a pendant I would have a black and blue mark on my sternum! LOL Tsja, helaas pindakaas...thanks for looking!

That's what I thought it was when I saw it, a pull of some sort, to a lamp, or a bell. It's very pretty, I hope you figure it out, Efesgirl. :)

@katherinecollections &oldandsilly: A PULL! I never thought about it being such a thing. You guys are brilliant. This object is really too bulky to be a pendant. Well, now I can search in a completely different direction. Thanks!
