This game board has been in our basement for quite awhile. We got it from a grandparent, yet no one in our family seems to remember how to play it.
I would be curious to know
1. How the game is played
2. What other pieces are required to play
3. The approximate timeframe for when this game was made and sold.
The Board is approximately 36"x48". Above the middle square it says "Lakeside Toys division of Lakeside Industries, INC. "SKIBBLE 1959 " Patent No.D186-176"

This is a board game which is played by two people each shooting a red or black checker around the board w/ their finger. U start at the start line and shoot for the #1 square. If a person hits your checker w/ theirs they go again. when u get the checker in the box u are going for you get to shoot again.....till u reach the center square #9.
I found this website because I was looking for dimensions so I could build a skibble board for my son's community playground. I used to play this game 35 yrs ago when I went to this same playground. If you could email me few pics w/ a tape measure laying across the board in both directions I'd appreciate it. thx
We played this game 40 years ago. It came with 6 colored plastic round discs, so up to 6 people could play. Discs were "flicked" into squares 1-9, 9 being poison. After the first to get into 9, whomever's disc he/she hit, was out. If you hit another piece coming out of your number, you get an extra turn. By any chance, do you want to sell your board? My brother has our old board and I would love one for my kids.
I still play this game with my 6th grade students and they love it. The story goes that Lakeside brought a bunch of the boards to the school and set them up in the gym to do old school market research. Don't know if the kids liked it back in the day, but the staff loved it. There used to be staff Skibble parties well into the a.m. in peoples garages.
You are the only other person I know of that has an original board. A student of mine gave me an original board years ago which we still use in class. The rest were homemade by the old timers when we still used to have a wood shop. The kids like it so much some of them have also tried to make them at home. There was several homemade versions at our school, but as teachers left to take other jobs, they also took a board with them. Great find!
My dad was the maker of the Skibble product, he passed away a few years back.

I would love to offer some info on this game of Skibble. First I would like to say that it was the most popular game during our summer school camps. I was playing this game in Valley Stream Shaw Ave grammer school in 1965, so 54 years ago! It is a fabulous skillful game and I was the champion during these summer schools. First off you can play a number of people not just 2. When I was playing they used these wooden pucks (later they switched to plastic). They were different colors and I believe you could play 6-8 players at a time. The player to go first had an advantage because there were more players pucks that they could hit and go again. We played if you hit 2 pucks with the same shot you actually went twice more, thus the more players that there were the easier to hit another puck. You started your puck on START and banked the puck off the block to the left and up to number one. The entire puck needed to be into the number you were shooting for and and got to go again if you got it in. Not to brag but I was sometimes able to run the table, i.e. I could get the puck into each number without missing and without any one else even going. Since it has been so many years since I have played, I'm a bit foggy on the exact layout of the table but it looks like picture of the table is off because it looks like when you get to 6 you can't really bank it in because the block is in the way. Also it looks like the same block is in the way when you are going from 7 to 8. You should be able to bank it in off the side but the blocks on the upper side look like they are too far forward. Perhaps the puck is able to be banked but it looks like the blocks are in the way. So in our tournaments we would see how many shots you took to go from start to 9 and then back to the start again. A perfect score was 18. One other note is that I believe if you knocked someones puck into the "lose turn in the middle that they would lose a turn. I can't exactly remember. Anyway, I would absolutely love to bring this game of skill back as it was such a great game. In fact, I used to make my own game up out of an old "Nock Cocky" table and cut the blocks and glue them on the board myself. If anyone knows where I could purchase this game or if it is still available I would love to purchase one!!!! Sincerely Russell Marz
