    Mysteryman…
    (3 items)

Unidentified man. Photo is 3 3/4'' x 5 3/4'' on thick card stock that is 4 1/4'' x 6 1/2''. The card stock has a matte cream colored finish. No info printed nor handwritten on either front or back. Found between pages of a 1891 music book that was at a thrift store. Wish I knew what year or who he was.

These type of photographs are called Cabinet Cards. Most examples found today date from the 1870s- 90s. Specifics on the photograph, photographer and subject will usually allow collectors to narrow the dates.

Yours is a little tough since the original image is not from life nor do I see any photographer information in your images.

Maybe the sheet music will offer a clue to his identity?

Thank you Scott. I will have to go back to the thrift store and see if they still have the book, unfortunately I did not buy it nor did I really look at the name of it. I was so excited about the photo! lol

      Possibly a composer?
    4. Mysteryman1313, 9 years ago
verbatim, I did a little searching on famous composers and did not see this man in the more famous ones. Do you know from his clothes what era he may be from?

Might not be a photo from real life,,,could be a photo of a painting or drawing. I'll bet he is "Somebody" known in his day.. Nice looking for sure
