Is this unique to Australia? It's just a little bit of kitch to have in the kitchen draw ready for the summer crop of pineapples. The instructions were included, although it's a little difficult to actually use.

Here's a receipe which will inspire you to start looking for your very own pineapple peeler.

I paid $2 in an OP shop.

I recall these and no wonder it was in an op shop unused!!
How about a recipe for an old Nana's pineapple tart (good Aussie one!)

Really, you had to be a contortionist to use this little gadget. They were a big hit at the Big Pineapple in Queensland.
Isn't funny how pineapple is not used as much in today's cooking. I well remember my grandmother's upside down cake. Your nana's Pie receipe looks scrumptious.
