This is without doubt one of Lötz's most spectacular decors.

This vase's shape doesn't match any of the preserved Lötz paper paterns and the closest to it is that of the 7579 (neu 45, 810; 1900). But an identical vase appears in a fantastic period photography that can be seen at the 1986 Waltraud Neuwirth's book (pags. 60-73). On this pic, apart from the text "Kopenhagen 1901" (were these exhibited at a n exhibition in Copenhagen?), vases are numbered, but some of them -and unfortunately ours is amogst them- are illegible. On pic4 you can see both the pic, a detail of it and a black & white version pic of our vase so you can see it's the very same model).

This vase is signed Loetz Austria on the pontil mark. Also, it's got an amazing blue iridisation inside, not observed on any other item with this decoration.
