Remember back when Credit Cards were only used at Service Stations and Visa/Master Charge were not invented yet? The first one I remember was Diners Club, but that was only for food & I was too young to eat at restaurants un those days. When I saw a pix of this Gulf Credit Card sign at a friends deceased dads place it brought back those memories of the 50s Service Station Credit Cards again. Since we have a few Gulf Signs at Lakeside Storage, I had to add this to our collection. Yes, it is a double sided sign and yes it ought to be hung on an arm on a pole. We will get to it one day, but I was anxious to just get it displayed somewhere and this seemed like a good spot for now. This sign came from Rexburg Idaho, or at least that's where we got it. I heard from a very good source that Rexburg has cameras that take pix of the license plats of every car passing through and automatically runs the plates through the stolen car list Nationally. They catch real bad guys from all over the Country in stolen cars in that little Idaho town on a weekly basis! Amazing! Scary job being a cop in that town!
