Recently I posted pics of one of my favorite wristwatches, now this is one of my favorite pocket watch.
Some say one of the best railroad time keeping watches the Hamilton 992b.
The case is the Bar over crown type, almost pristine condition (I added a pic of bottom of case the star 10kt gold filled still readable. This is almost always gone dhe to over polishing.
The dial is double sunk porcelain in perfect condition.
Cobalt blue steel hands perfect.
The movement just look from the 1940s,awesome.
The watch chain type of mariner link gold filled,14kt BPOE ELK TOOTH watch fob.
Again one of my favs.
dated from C35694 is 1940
Thanks for the info, the person I purchased watch from said it was an early 992b.
I think 1940 was the first year of production?
Would be late in the year 1940.... C40000 was end of run, believe you're correct on 992's
Information is a wonderful thing, its not what you know but who knows what your talking about.
I have an nice private label Rockford KW/KS untouched acid gilt movement plates,I'll show it when I find it.
Beautiful watch! Love that bar over crown case....
Thanks toolate2,the case was without any marks when I g I got it,I did put a line mark on the back.
