I designed this layout to run four trains simultaneously. My record run time without an accident was 22 minutes. Shown is one half of the layout - the other half contained the freight yard, small town station and a switching yard. Authentic steam sounds were automatic and there were lights in all buildings and in the passenger cars. The size of the layout was two feet by five feet representing four miles of track.

Big gauge is cool an all, but I have always been fascinated by Z scale. There is something mind-blowing about machines that tiny chugging around. Very impressive layout, to say the least.

Beautiful set and layout! Your crocodile is a powerful little engine. Always love looking at Swiss landscaping too. Do you have Marklin oil to lubricate the little gears ? I have a crocodile just like yours. Bought it brand new in the box but the seller had it in a display case for years, several inches from a light bulb. The oil had turned to glue and I had to take it apart to clean it and oil it. That's when the microscopic gears all fell out LOL. That took me some time to put back together but man, does it ever work well. Glad you posted your layout, BEAUTIFUL!
