    Hi all.
    New purchase last weekend.
German as far as I know, nice case in good condition.
    Clock has Westminster chimes.
Chimes on quarter and half hour and three quarter hour.
Seems to running Ok, took some teasing to get it to run, I know they do like to be moved.
No paperwork inside, no markings anywhere that I can find, except a badly faded label on the back, and the only word I can make out is "farbe", color in German.
Some pictures of the movement attached.
Has anyone run across one of these?
    Thanks.
    David

I think looking at the size of it..it is a Grand mothers clock..1920/30s..but we have some great clock people on here so I am sure when they came along they will be able to tell you...love the face!..:-)

Nice clock !! I would of thought its English because of the Westminster chime!
      I'm not an expert , just a thought ;-))

This clock looks like one very similar to the one I recently inherited. My clock also does not have an obvious information on the maker. I am curious what you learned about yours since your original post.

Looks like a German Mauthe Early 20th century. They also feature Westminster chimes, and the weight decoration is identical.

I inherited a very similar grandfather clock and this is what I know about it. My parents bought this clock in 1964 in the black forest Germany. This clock does not rely on a key. My parents were told this clock was over three hundred years old when they bought it. I recently had it cleaned and calibrated and it continues to work beautifully. I will look for more info on it.

This guy has a similar clock. Circa 1912. Says it's a Mauthe. Has paperwork & such.
Mine looks so similar. Could mine be a Mauthe? I'll check...

I have a clock nearly identifical to this one that I inhereited- face is the same, weights look the same, the only difference is the ornation on the side of the clock is slightly different. When we lived in Germany my Dad we go to flea markets and buy old clocks, clean them up and repair them- I believe this one came from the Black Forest, but would love more information too.
