McKaig-Hatch was a tool manufacturer for the automotive industry. The company, based out of Buffalo, New York made economy tools, and produced and supplied the screwdriver, pliers, and open-end wrenches in the pouch tool kits supplied with new Ford and GM cars from the 1930s through the 1950s.

TA, can't find any reference to them making a twelve ounce ball peen... Can you reference a site or a makers mark?

Actually, I think hammers have been forged instead of cast for a long time. Casts break & splinter around the edges.

Absolutley Correct blunderbuss2! Where do they say it it cast, or am I just getting older, and older, and older! LOL

Frisco, you're getting old. Sorry! It's in the description.

Sorry, not an expert by any means. I thought it was cast... Still looking for confirmation on maker.

I wonder why all the pictures are the same? Show the side view including the handle and a shot of the butt.
    12. ChetPunisher, 9 years ago
Because those are the only markings. Will seeing the rest of the hammer help?

Would you buy a house without seeing the entire thing?
    14. ChetPunisher, 9 years ago
I'm glad you asked. There are a few markings on the bottom. Adding pics now.
    15. fhrjr2 fhrjr2, 9 years ago
I didn't need pictures of the bottom of the head...only the wooden handle. I suspected the butt end would have blue paint a couple inches up. I will let someone else run with this....I get in enough trouble without trying.

I guess I'm too new hear and really don't understand your statement. If it's not a collectors item, I'm fine with that. Just wanted to know...

TA, I saw that page when I searched you suggestion. They made a ten once hammer. I didn't see anything about a twelve. The makers mark looks different too.
    20. TubeAmp TubeAmp, 9 years ago
The mark is spot on, look at other tools on the page, it's their mark. As far as showing you the exact model and weight of hammer, sorry, that's your job; I don't need to see if they made a twelve ounce hammer, because you are holding one ;)

I found some more images that show the mark more clearly, you are correct. Thanks!
