This object is made of wood, bamboo or similar. The main square shape is 5-1/2" x 4-3/4" x about 5/8" in thickness. It has what appears to obviously be a handle and in the interior are what appear to be "saw teeth" which are opposing in each row and actually are sharp to the touch. Incredibly it also appears to be hand made from hand tools. If anyone has a hint or clue to what it is that would certainly be appreciated. Thanks to you in advance. I am recent to this website and very impressed. I intend to visit more often hoping I might be able to someday contribute some information in return.
It's a grater .... The non metal version !!!
Here in Australia we sometimes see bamboo versions.
I agree with vetraio50 - We have one made for milking corn off the cob to make corn fritters, cream corn soup etc. No modern food processor can do the same job or do it as well.
PS: I question this one being for food grade use.
