    This figurine was purchased at an Estate Sale and belonged to the lady's grandfather. It is 7 inches tall and you can see the mark on the bottom (sorry, my picture is upside down!) She believes it to be Capodimonte porcelain. Can anyone confirm. And does anyone know of a good website with pottery marks of Italy.

    Thank you!

      That mark isn't on this site, take that for whatever it's worth:

      I found this mark listed in images with the description as follows;
      If your NC marked item has a 4 digit model number starting with 6 such as 6135 or 6135B, ect. it is most likely an Ardalt, Arnart or Sadek import.

      I also found this description - it is most likely a Japanese import;
      "The NC mark that is found on the small porcelain items is a mark from Japan, mid-20th century. We have documented more than a dozen importers/exporters and makers who used this mark. It is apparently a Japan export mark. Those appearing on Lefton, Ardalt, Ucago, and others confirm the time frame for this mark is 1950's-60's and one of the many importers of Japanese ceramics which can bear the NC mark."

      Nice agh ! I kept thinking the quality was to high for Japan but apparently not . It looks more German quality like a Piano Baby . Nice solve

      I have found most of these with just the number means they had a seperate sticker with the importers name and probably "Made in Japan" - There is at least two different importers I know of that used a number beginning with E - one was ENESCO and the other INARCO.

      I have the same one and a girl. They are from Japan. I purchased in the 70's. My Aunt used to call them the Apple Boy and Girl because she said they were copied from an original mold where the boy and girl were eating an apple. Hope it helps. I love them. Besides Japan makes no porcelain now.
