Deano
(305 items)
Got these at the auction. They are so nearly identical, it was difficult keeping them strait. One is slightly bigger than the other, 1/4" difference in height & beak to tail measurements, with a weight difference of 5 grams.
OMG Deano! Truly golden pheasants!
Thank you Racer, an unexpected find, right up my alley!
Great to have a pair...gorgeous really love them, nice to have them in the red and gold, my favourite!!..:-)
Thanks Inky. The old, right place, right time scenario.
Beautiful pair Deano! The decor is called A Polveri. Here is an example from the Murano Zoo, albeit with a different base. https://sites.google.com/site/muranozoo/birds-by-archimede-seguso-1/birds-by-archimede-seguso-3
Thank you Rick. I appreciate the Polveri info. It's nice knowing exactly what something is called. Is the word "aventurine" used in the description, or does Polveri say it all?
Well yes and no Deano, part is Aventurine and part Polveri. Aventurine and Polveri are totally different. The crown, which has larger and looser gold specs, is Aventurine, while the body, with its fine, powder-like grains is Polveri - which roughly translated means dust or powder.
That's pretty much what I thought it is, because, as you say, it has both. So I would call them "Aventurine Polveri Seguso Pheasants". Thanks for the dialogue. I have had some interest in them and I want to make sure I represent them in the most accurate way possible.

Wish me luck. It looks like I'll be selling the pheasants tonight. Just what I needed, going to go out for dinner if it happens. Yay!
Oh my -- I could not part with them -- they are STUNNING !!
