Newest Addition to our Parrish collection, The Lute Players by House of Art. 18" x 30", largest format. It has excellent color and original frame. Frame has some damage which I will repair, and needs glass.
beautiful
Did you know Maxfield Parrish did one beautiful sheet music cover in the 1920s? Quite expensive when you can even find it. Ill go see if I can come up with a link. Also illustrated ads for electric light inside theatre programs same era..for something like "Mazda" I can't quite recall the name of the product for you but maybe you already know.
Title is "DJER KISS"--The cover print is quite dark. I had a copy in only fair condition and sold it 20 years ago. It seems impossible to locate now but I will keep trying.
Here is a link to "Djer Kiss" showing that sheet framed. They have lightened it up a bit as my copy was darker

The ads inside show programs and playbooks I recall were for Edison -Mazda lamps or lightbulbs--always just inside the cover in glorious color. I have found out he also did ads for Jello and others. It would cost you at LEAST $ 50 for "Djer Kiss" in acceptable condition. Harder to find then "hen's teeth"!
Thanks for the love and comments PostCardCollector. When it come to Parrish prints, your preaching to the choir. My Partner and I have been collecting his prints for 40+ years. "Djer Kiss" is actually a french perfume that he illustrated for , very much like the "Edison Mazda Co." I have a 1920 Djer Kiss Advertising as well as many Edison Mazda pieces. They say that in the 1930's 3 out of 5 homes had a Maxfield Parrish print hanging in them. As I have time will try to post some of the Edison Mazda and Djer Kiss pieces. Thanks again for your interest.
Oops, was I "preaching"--so I suppose then you knew about the rare sheet music. I was just trying to be friendly and maybe helpful about that piece, so rare. Suppose you're sitting on a half dozen?
PostCardCollector, Sorry if I offended you with the term "Preaching to the Choir". No offense was intended. Yes I was aware of the Sheet Music "The Djer Kiss Waltz", made as a promo for the Djer Kiss Perfume/ Cosmetics. Parrish also illustrated tobacco and candy tins, games, advertising dolls, lighting displays, etc. The breadth of Parrish prints and collectibles is endless.
Thanks Manikin and PostCardCollector for the comments, and argcollect, fortapache, smiata, and vetraio50 for the Love!
Thanks Trey for the love!
