Found this tired old relic at the local 2nd hand furniture store for $100.
Although we are trying to save for our renovation (weatherboard 100 yo cottage), I couldn't walk away from it.
Originally the sides of the lamp were white Perspex and it looked terrible, but I instantly identified it as almost Frank Lloyd Wrightish!
I know it's from the 70s, a Sydney based furniture group called Post and Rail. It's all held together with heavy brass fittings and it's only pine.
I took it down to the local stained glass man and had the glass panels cut to size and this is the result. The glass is quite reminiscent of craftsman type designs I think.
The colors may not be every bodies cup of tea but we just love it.
It's been a while since posting anything. Finally finished a divorce that dragged on.
I remember Post and Rail! I wonder if anyone still has any of their huge furniture.
I dig this too - and the colours actually make it more mod than it would have originally been.
Thanks, Racer4four.
