The hand-painted bowl is thought to be very old, was given to my aunt as a wedding gift more than 80 years ago. It is 10 inches in diameter and has the word BAVARIA stamped on the back in bold lettering.

The clear blue candy dish ? is about 7 inches long and 5 inches in height. It has no markings on it. My 93 year old mother told me that it is 'depression glass', but I'm not so sure.

    Any hints on history, value?

Perhaps if you were to recategorize these items, one of the experts here might drop a comment on your thread. First you might want to do the glass dish on its own thread, and mark it as unsolved mystery. With the bowl, I'd mark that as china, not art pottery. Four pictures of each item also helps with identification. :)
