This began with an ebay listing for 'Unusual pair of multicoloured glass vases, Murano style' There was only one picture and it was upside down!
The box arrived in pristine condition.....but it rattled. On opening, each vase was wrapped in only a single layer of bubble wrap, and you see the result, pic.4.
I was annoyed because these were the first spatter vases I'd ever seen with such applied 'leaf' handles and I assumed I'd never see the like again. However about ten days later I found another......
On all the base glass is cobalt and the spatter isn't cased. I think they are all the same decor as the colours in the spatter are the same though of a darker tone in vase three. Looking at the bases the difference is confined to the pale blue.....in the third one it's a grey. Obviously the same maker......
Height 21cm./8.25 inches
Oh, Peggy, what a tragedy! I have had some amazing survivors like the vase posted in an envelope with just cling film, and then the 4 packed together in one sheet of newspaper each of which one survived!
I don't know who these are by - I have a couple of blue leaf vases I think are definitely Kralik and some which are unknown. The American cousins here can help if they have any marked examples.
Too bad for poor packing-- glad you found another!

@oldandsilly....Never any doubt on that score.
Ian, Thanks for the sympathy....I've had astonishing survivors too! I went looking for your 'leaf handles' post but couldn't find it. I too have a view but no proof!
Thanks scott....too long a story but I ended up giving advice on packing which was totally ignored!
Peggy,I'm so sorry about your vases.I know what are you feeling,I've received broken things few times too .Some sellers think their responsibility finishes when the money hits their accounts.
Thanks for the sympathy, Ivonne. I was very cross but then totally amazed to find another :-)
you mean to tell that this person didn't even bubble wrap these individually ?
Hi SEAN, she put a single layer around each vase but didn't fill the remaining space. They just banged against each other inside....the box itself wasn't dented at all!
WOW!!! , I always bubble wrap and tape up each one , all the time .
I'm sure you do SEAN, as any glass collector would.....
What a shame sklo42 :(......People who don't know how to pack glass have no business selling fragile items on Ebay. You can never have too much packing and double boxing is a must with two inches of clearance around each item. It's not rocket science !
I quite agree, Mikelv85, but once my disappointment was over wasn't it amazing to find another so soon! I must admit the first pair were a prettier version of the decor!
Thanks for the commiserations :-)
I hope you have gotten a refund.
Oh yes SEAN, if I can hear chinks/rattles from the box I reach for my camera and take photos as I open it. Doesn't happen often fortunately!
I hear ya !!!
Oh Peggy! I know that sickening jingle all too well. I am so sorry you lost that lovely pair! But isn't it funny how things work out, sometimes? I am so glad you found another similar vase so quickly.
Thanks for the sympathy, Michelle, and you are right, it is odd how things pan out!
Great pear, nah, pare, no no ! pair!! NOW!!!
Now, now, Karen, we know you can spell, no puns aloud.....or even written:-)))
very funny and colorful vases
Yes, kivatinitz, looks like the vase is being grabbed by a rampant vine........
I know how heartbreaking it was Peggy. I've had it happen to me several times, and it always seems to be the piece we're dying to get. Oh wait a minute... Isn't EVERY piece the one we're dying to get? lol The bright side is you were able to find another, so I'm sure that helped ease your disappointment.
Rick, thanks, and I got to see first hand two versions of the same décor.
Oh no Peggy, my commiserations :( I had a wooden bear arrive broken, he was loose in a bubble wrap envelope :( I've leant, to my own cost and to others, Never to skimp on packaging, what ever it is. I'm glad you found another one..isn't that always the way, you wait for ages, then two come at once.
Thanks for the sympathy, Fran, not always unfortunately!!
Thanks to all the kind people who sent loves and sympathy.
