    This Metal drum has a diameter of approx 350mm
    The lid has a plaque ' WM Barton & sons, scientific apparatus manufacturers, Edinburgh'
    It has a lid which fastens with three catches and a carry handle
    The height is approx 180mm
    The drum sits in a purpose made canvas case with leather trim.
    The bottom of the case have four leather loops ( like belt loops)
    The lid of the case just fits snugly on top of the drum and also has four leather loops. It fastend with a strap and buckle.
    Please can anybody identify this?
