No sure the date or material! I see a lot of porcelain sign but mine feels like plastic? Sign measures 106" x5' huge! Has serial number on the side as seen in the pictures!

My family was a distributor of Lion Oil products from 1950 through 1974. As a child growing up in the business I became very familiar with the advertising produced by Lion Oil. As a teenager I personally help install several of these signs in our gas stations.
This is a plastic sign of which there were always two sides placed in an aluminium frame that sat on top of a single light pole. The frame was about 8 to 12 inches wide and allowed for each side of the sign to be opened to change the 4 to 6 fluorescent lights that were inside the frame.

The age of the sign would have been from the late 1960's to early 1970's.
