Today at the fleemarket I was looking for jewelry but I couldn't let these pieces of industrial shoemaking history pass me. I had to buy them. What you see are shoe lasts. One in size 6 and the other in 7 1/2. They are really heavy. I will use them as interesting objects where the guests takes their shoes off (here we take them off in our houses) or use them as bookstands. Any other idea of usage is welcome! This pair has the name of the factory written on them, and I've seen a short film from there. I don't know how old these are, anyone who knows shoemaking history and lasts? Don't seam to find a proper category.
It seams that the factory was running in 1907-1971. I have a feeling these shoe lasts are pre 1950, maybe 1920-1930? I will have to study shoefashion to know for sure.
I really don't know anything about this type of thing. One question are they a template or pattern for making shoes.

Peasejean, not patterns. First they cut out the leather and later when they fastened the shoe with leather and sole together they did that on these. The lasts was then inside the shoe during several moments of the making.

I agree on the era of the lasts Elisabeth. The shape of the Lasts and allowing for a heel not too high makes me think of 1920s shoes.
