My friend gave me lots of old jewelry, what is this green glass, has screw back matching earrings. Most of the jewelry she gave me is Victorian and Edwardian.
Thanks for looking and once again, awesome site to be part of.
Billy
very cool, friend and a very beautiful piece of jewelry!!!
Yea, she's 28 and has lots of Love and helps me out sometimes.
Very pretty. That could be jade in rose gold. You might want to have that checked out by a jeweler. Are there any markings at all on it?
Gold will corrode especially if someone tried to clean it with a paste and didn't get the paste off. I would take it and have it checked before you do anything with it.
Well I start again it is a great site & your piece is also stunning I'm wondering if it could be from the Arts & Craft Period just a thought.
Such interesting jewellery. I hope some of our experts can help with ID...I'm really interested.
Not rose gold, I'm familiar with that. The green sounds like glass when tapped with my teeth.
Zowie, Arts & Crafts era, could be right on.
The green inserts are likely glass made to resemble chrysoprase. The cut is too unusual for it to be a genuine stone in that type of jewelry, imho.
Thanks Davy, I had a feeling it was glass.
Are there any markings on it? Could possibly be early Mexican jewelry as well.
It is a interesting piece. First my throughts are Victorian, then could it be Plique a jour. I'll be very interested to see what other people think. But I really like this necklace.
Good luck with your search
Blue eyed Mexican, I didn't find any markings on it. Pease, Thank You, I will search That.
Zowie, Thank You
As it looks like roses it could also be English as they are known to love there roses.
Zowie, Thanks for that information, it helps me a lot.
At least it may give you a start
The roses are gorgeous!
