Unfortunately, I know nothing about this little find except:
Next door neighbor moved, threw it out, didn't have a chance to talk or ask questions about the item.
Based upon some preliminary research it looks as though it might have had a cane seat as well as back but was replaced at some time, maybe in the 50s or 60s. The wood looks as though it is walnut and the curves on the legs are definitely unique and probably bent with steam. The frame in which the back cushion is seated in, looks pieced/fit together as well. I wish I knew what the chair style category it falls under, although it might be some kind of sewing rocking chair. There are no marks anywhere on the piece. I wouldn't consider this a child sized chair either. Just looking for a direction to continue the research.
If anyone has any information or has seen anything like it, please let me know. I'd like to have it restored but if it is antique, I would want to seek out an expert before having that done. Thank you!!
