A recent find in a second hand store. It is 8 1/2" tall and weighs over 4 lbs. I haven't been able to find another like it anywhere. The tail looks Italian (to me), it has great symmetry, detail and use of color. Any thoughts?
You got my vote on this one, i love green in any form, and this bird in addition, made him desirable for me, i love bird to...:-D
Gorgeous piece, i love it.
Alan
Thanks Alan. Lucky find.
Yes i think so, one day someone here told me, the more important thing, you love it that's all, of coarse, if a" Seguso, or Jonasson", you know.... that's help, but i mean, what attract you, in the first place, it's the look of it.
Happy hunting.
Alan
Love the colours but surely it is not a turkey! Something much nicer...a fan tail, or greater noisy woop woop or something!
Hey Racer, You could be right. I don't know. Whatever it is, it's fat!

Putting out the call to all ~ Best guesses as to what kind of bird this might be.
I've asked some of my associates, most say it's not a Turkey. Turning to greater minds than mine on this. D.
very beautiful!!
What a fabulous turkey!
After consultation and the suggestion of Racer, I changed the name of the post to better project the worthiness of this piece. After all, only Benjamin Franklin thought the Turkey was worthy of being a National symbol. Fan Tail sounds better than Turkey. Thanks Racer., (btw, what's a whoop whoop?) LOL.
Here is something I would so love to own.
It lifts my spirits and makes me what to fly!!!!!
Spectacular!
ooops "makes me WANT to fly"
It's a paperweight, isn't it??
Yessir. It's a big ole paperweight. Thanks for the love. I wasn't sure how ya'll were going to feel about the "Turkey Whoop Fan Tail Bird" LOL. So far it's gotten a fair bit of love.
Ok, I'll chime in on this one! I say it's a 'Perkey'...That's penguin and turkey! LOL.
I was nosing around eBay, found someone selling a pair of birds, exactly the same as this one. The seller has them listed as Venetian glass. I still don't know what it is, but I'll put the information on account and see what time brings.
OMG! It's a KAKAPO!
