The logo is on that page...can you help me date this stein? And a history? Info? Thanks, I'm a novice.
Based on the handle, your stein can be identified as having been manufactured by the firm of Matthias Girmscheid Höhr, Germany which is now Höhr-Grenzhausen, Germany, and probably dates from the early 1900s (1900-1930). The M. Girmscheid company was founded in 1884 and manufactured clay pipes. It wasn't until many years later they started manufacturing steins. Records from 1903 indicate the company was a "stoneware factory" that employed 40 workers. The company is still in existence. This link will take to you more info about the company http://www.steinmarks.co.uk/pages/pv.asp?p=stein316 . Here is a link to the current company http://www.girmscheid.de/ The lid is not original to this stein, and appears to have been an early replacement. In 1939 the Hofbräuhaus' name changed from Königliches (Kgl.) to Staatliches.
Hope this helps.
